Rustic Reflections

Today is ‘World Orgasm day’. Helloooo…..before you start building raunchy thoughts in your wildest imagination,  let me tell you that it isn’t about sex but about ‘world peace’. Now you must be wondering that rustic has gone mad as how come such a personal pursuit of pleasure bring global camaraderie and harmony. The theory is that if enough people can climax at the same time while projecting a conscious intention for peace and harmony on the planet, a surge of physical and spiritual positivity will infuse the Earth’s energy field. The organizers think that surge will create a different kind of global warming – the warming feeling of love and harmony and an aversion to violence. “It’s the only good thing about having too many people on the planet, what with over-population causing ‘Peak Everything’” says Paul Reffell, one of the organizers. “For the Global-O, the more the merrier”. Buy this idea?

Today is also Humbug Day, the day that “allows everyone preparing for Christmas to vent their frustrations,” according to Wellcat Holidays, which copyrighted the concept.

And today…no no..tonight its Winter solctice.  Its the longest night of the year. The word solstice comes from Latin ‘sol’ (sun) and ‘sistere'(to stand still).  It occurs at the instant when the sun’s position in the sky is at its greatest angular distance on the other side of the equatorial plane from the observer’s hemisphere.  For a night-rider and someone who loves winter like me, its a double bonus!

So three things today…combination of first and third can be awesome ;)…so ladies and gentlemen on this sunday…between cooking up an orgasm and being a humbug today, you choose…?

As I had suspected in my previous post…N. Korea, Malaysia, Palestine and other anti US countries are praising the shoe-throwing act of Iraqi journalist…

Here are some excepts from newspapers..

Daily Times:

Seoul, Dec 20, 08..

North Korea’s government newspaper has poured scorn on US President George W Bush over the Baghdad shoe-throwing incident, saying the outgoing leader deserved it.
In a commentary entitled ‘Well-Deserved Insult’, Minju Chosun said on Thursday it was fortunate that Bush had been able to duck the flying footwear. “Otherwise, he would have had his face printed with the dirty shoe soles,” it said in an article seen on Friday on a media website operated by the communist state. The paper said Bush tried to put a brave face on the incident. But it likened his demeanour to “a cock soaked in the rain” – a reference to a Korean proverb describing a person who suddenly falls from high status to shame.
Minju Chosun added, “It was folly for Bush to appear recklessly for a press conference aimed at trying to win favour from Iraqis in a country where anti-US sentiment is reaching the sky. “The US power-holder subjected himself to greater disgrace as he attempted to embellish his failed policy in Iraq. It is unnecessary to add he was showered with derision and laughter.”
Also on Friday, Malaysia’s foreign minister praised the Iraqi journalist who threw his shoes at Bush, calling it retaliation for the invasion of Iraq. “The best show of retaliation so far is the shoe throwing act by that remarkable reporter who gave President Bush his final farewell last week,” Foreign Minister Rais Yatim said at an event to commemorate the 63rd anniversary of the United Nations.

Hindustan Times:

Kuala Lumpur, December 20, 2008

Malaysia’s foreign minister has praised the Iraqi journalist who tossed his shoes at President George W Bush, saying it was the “best show of retaliation” for the US invasion of Iraq.

Rais Yatim praised “the shoe-throwing act by that remarkable reporter who gave President Bush his final farewell last week.” “That shoe-throwing episode, in my view, is truly the best weapon of mass destruction to the leader who coined the phrase ‘axis of evil’ to denote Iran, Iraq and North Korea,” he said in a speech late Friday at a dinner to commemorate the 63rd anniversary of the United Nations.

PS..all these reflect the common feelings held by people who in some or other way have been hurt by US imperialist policies….now the baton passes to Obama….hope he is able to bring some good will and harmony and not be swayed by the powers of being a head of state of a superpower!

Somehow I have never liked Bush from the day he won that controversial US election in 2000. Whether it is his so-called war on terrorism, or his invasion on Afghanistan, Iraq, or his policies towards N.Korea, Iran and especially India and Pakistan.  So when today I saw bizarre photographs of one of the most protected leaders in historyducking as two size 10 shoes hurtled in his direction by an Iraqi journo, it felt good to my eyes…

More noteworthy is the statement made by that turbulent journalist….“It is the farewell kiss, you dog,” he shouted, and threw the shoes straight towards Bush.  It clearly reflects the lingering hostility still felt towards the man who ordered the 2003 invasion of the country.

So I thought it quite right to write an account of his tenure highlighting some events which made his tenure into a ‘tenure of error’ and a ‘reign of terror‘..

Hazy election on a quirky float
Gore retiring with popular vote
Marginal win on electoral vote
Bush sets sail on his victory boat

Taliban emerges on nine-by-eleven
Bush hurls War-on-terrorism demon
Marauding Afghan in search of Laden
Forces numerous victims to heaven

N.Korea, Iran, Iraq facing his ire
Just hint of WMD puts Iraq in fire
Baghdad sinks into cadaverous mire
Civil war leads to distrust even higher

With all the money draining in warfare
Subprime and market crash adds to despair
Capitalist US turns into a Socialist hare
Supports crumbling corps with utmost care

At the end of his hard aggressive regime
His Iraq visit fulfills hurt-folks’ dream
To make him taste ignominy to its extreme
He throws a boot in face, stigmatizing his false esteem

democracy is a delicacy, in its true sense..
but no more than hypocrisy, in its real sense..

so many parties, with so many manifestos..
hard to gauge a friend among so many fishy foes..

promises, claims, flamboyant speeches and declarations..
just ways to draw masses and grab votes in sugary deceptions..

vote is a symbol of our say in the system..
manipulative politics stigmatize this rightful custom..

no criteria for entering into politics..
power hungry thugs bring nation into terrible fix..

parliament is a place to discuss and debate..
selfish-intents take public-interest to pitiable fate..

executive and judiciary are always at loggerheads..
bills ordinances amendments weaken already loosened threads..

public money squandered in the name of common man..
only to fatten already bulging pockets of ruling clan..

people want their leaders to lead the race..
coalition blame-game leads us to shame and disgrace..

democracy is for, by and of the people..conceptually..
but to live by its meaning is far from reality..really..

PS…crippling carnage in mumbai recently was just another manifestation of this dramatic travesty….high time to awaken and take some action !!

CCTV footage: Terror strike at Taj …

more about “crippling carnage….“, posted with vodpod

swinging specs in light
dancing free, shining bright
popping in our sight in a twilight
titillating imagination with delight

gliding birds in sky
carefree, swift, soaring high
sailing towards, where ocean meets sky
inspiring in us passion with a zealous sigh

drifting clouds in blue
doing tango in an enormous view
changing shapes subtle to construe
stirring us everytime to learn unlearn anew

swirling fishes in lake
forming whirlpools in their wake
steering in glorious colors with no mistake
quivering our minds with a vibrant shake

doodling days and nights
far from crowds in carefree delights
swinging in nature’s cradle, colorful and bright
giving our lovely cherished childhood an eager invite!!

happycoverflat2-copy1

PS….we could never have loved the earth so well if we had had no childhood in it..

sometimes some words in haste
although being artless and chaste
fortuitously may show up in bad taste

sometimes a glib tongue slip
casual carefree may be on the flip
may rub a weak nerve as if a frost nip

sometimes a silly misdemeanour
although in a playful juvenile endeavour
may hurt feelings and break away forever

sometimes a prankish mockery
done in a light gesture, only cursory
may break hearts as if a delicate crockery

Mistakes may sometimes happen
Mishaps may shape up, spirits may dampen
but nothing to worry, nothing to dishearten
as a simple heartfelt sorry is enough to strengthen
lost trust, love and compassion to a shining beacon in horizon !!

PS….just say sorry with all your heart….never lose ur loved ones….as to part with love is so difficult and hard…
